1. RESULTS IN THE TREATMENT OF INFECTED
WOUNDS WITH A NEW CHLORO BASED
ANTISEPTIC
Antiseptics has always used in the treatment of wounds. Their use has
gone through ups and downs, especially in recent years, at first almost
banned, are heavily back into the limelight, starting from historical and
new ones are increasingly being proposed.
AIM OF THE STUDY
evaluation of a new device based on
chloride ions with high bioavailability and
reactivity. The manufacturer's data
classify it as iperoxidant able to perform
activities such as bactericidal, local
modulator of inflammatory processes. We
analyzed the performance as an
antiseptic in the treatment of cutaneous
lesions with clinical signs of local infection
according the WUWHS document.
MATERIALI AND METHODS
Were enrolled 20 patients treated for a period of 5 weeks. The
treatment included a medication twice a day with the presidium
and gauze. Evaluation were done on a weekly basis and the
parameters analyzed were: resolution of infections, WBP score,
VAS, wound’s area. The maximum size of the lesions was 50
cm2.

2. RESULTS IN THE TREATMENT OF INFECTED WOUNDS WITH A
NEW CHLORO BASED ANTISEPTIC
RESULTS
1 case Drop Out for pain, while 19 patients completed the study. At 2
weeks of treatment, all the phenomena of cellulite were resolved, while
at the end of the observation period is still showed signs of local infection
in 2 cases. The resolution occurred in 15 cases in the follow-up period.
The VAS did not change significantly while the WBP score showed an
improvement in 16 cases out of 19 completed.
CONCLUSIONS
The Antiseptic did not present complications whatsoever, a single drop
out from non-specific pain control cannot be considered a true
complication. The resolution of infection 15 cases out of 19 in a period of
five weeks is high, but the interesting data observed was the rapid
resolution of cellulites in 1-2 weeks in all cases. This data indirectly
confirming as a modulator of inflammation.
