This document summarizes a study on corrective surgical treatment of foot deformities in diabetic patients. The study reviewed 26 patients with 27 foot deformities who underwent surgical correction. The deformities included claw toe, hammer toe, and others. Surgical treatment achieved correction of the deformities and improved function and aesthetics. It also aided in healing of any ulcers related to the deformities. There were no post-operative infections. The wounds healed within an average of 12 days. Surgical correction of deformities is recommended for cases with obvious deformities, with or without ulcers, to effectively treat the underlying cause of ulcers and prevent recurrence.
