MIMIC presentation 2012

Editor's Notes

  1. Optionally, you can also do advanced configuration. You can select the network interface the device can use, any non-standard port number, and choose the protocol you want the device to support.   To simulate remote or faulty links, you can add delays in the response or can drop packets.   If you have a specific problem that happens only after say 30 days, then you can set that here and the device will start as if it has been running for 30 days. This is how you can go forward in time.
  2. Trap Generation MIMIC let's you generate a single trap or a trap storm at any time and as many times as you want. You can select from all the available traps and configure the frequency with which you want to send them out. You can optionally send any variable binding you want.   MIMIC can send traps to multiple management applications.
  3. This shows telnet sessions to MIMIC Simulated Cisco devices. You can connect to those using Telnet and give IOS commands just like a real Cisco device. You will see the same command line interface as Cisco IOS.
  4. We thank you for attending this Webinar. For a free evaluation of the full featured copy of MIMIC, visit our website www.gambitcomm.com or contact our sales department.
