responsibilities and Administrative responsibilities. As a teacher needs to take care students of Graduate
and post graduate students. Project guidance was given to more than 50 post graduate students. Awarded
as a best teacher based on students feed back in 2013 and 2016. Can able to teach so many subjects in
Computer science engineering students. The following case studies were conducted as a part of research
and consultancy.
Network monitoring is critical in conserving revenues and customer experience needing analysis of
large network logs ( Research work on case study): Jan 2016– Dec 2016
Inputs: Network generated logs , Call records / data records / VAS records , Call traffic volume , Data
traffic volume , SMS traffic volume , NOC KPI: Call duration, answer / seizure ratio (ASR), post dial
delays etc.. , Network performance indicators , Service quality indicators
Analysis : TechM TAP is a Big Data Platform, capable of processing huge volumes of data forms a cost
effective solution , Solution is capable of analyzing logs in real time, giving an updated picture of
network operations , Network quality problems can be identified in proactively and in near realtime.
Vendors can take corrective actions before call quality is affected , Analyze subscriber behaviour on n/w.
Results: Deeper understanding of operational issues , Improved Network Vendor knowledge , Identify
customer behaviour that encourages higher volume or utilization of higher margin products Sample KPIs
to measure: , Measure network performance to identify underperforming n/w parts , Vendor portal for
operational enhancement.
Customer experience dashboard to predict events impacting customer network experience in real-
time Business Solution( Research work on case study): Jun 2015 – Dec 2015
Inputs: Geo-centric information on customer , Social media , Call center data , Network operations ,
Weather conditions , Business SLA and benchmarks.
Analysis : Location-specific analysis by assimilating data from different sources impacting customer
experience for a large Telco , Predictive analytics using machine learning with linear and logistic
regression, k-means classification, Naïve Byes , Map-based dashboard with real-time status of customer
experience KPIs
Results :
Near-real time geographical dashboard to predict issues correlating diverse data sources like Social
media, set-top box logs, CRM, weather API, call centre data , Sentiment analysis NLP algorithm with
85% accuracy , Real-time update to business users on the customer experience index with predictability
on parameters impact in near future
Data call drop analysis for a large operator in India indicated high drop rates across all sectors
with poor handover success rates( Research work on case study): Jan 2015 – June 2015
Inputs: RAN, CS/PS core data at regular interval , Network element logs, RNC dumps , Network element
vendor counter description document , OSS KPIs and reports , Site data , Planning data , Alarms and fault
state data , Analytics technique and tools
Analysis: Root cause analysis for call drops within: , Cell level analysis , Predictive model for identifying
most probable reasons for data call drops , Session level analysis , Advanced PS reports , Per APN
analysis , Volume and QoS analysis , Observed drop rate, handover success and traffic load
Results : Current drop rate was observed 2%+ across all target cell sites , HHO execution success rate was
poor , Analysis highlighted areas for drops: , Signaling failure is the key reason , Alarms found active on
few nodes , Lack of correlation between alarms and call drops , Network accessibility=98% (busy hrs) ,
Linear correlation model for effec. RCA
