Assist in developing short-and long-term plans for programs, monitoring progress, assuring adherence, and
evaluating performance. Help design of performance objectives and implement and monitor programming to
meet desired outcomes. Develop yearly outreach plan according to program needs and capacity. Maintain
databases with participant and prospect information and mailing list. Foster positive relationships by organizing
and meeting with individuals on a regular basis. Supervise line staff by articulating expectations, displaying
model behavior, maintaining open lines of communication and being clear about roles and relationships.
Identify open positions, hiring and training new associates in a timely manner. Address staff needs and identify
relevant external training opportunities by coordinate training seminars. Participate in managing fiscal
operations, including budget development, management, and modifications. Track expenditures. Continually
monitor program’s finances, recommending expenditures or cost control measures to the ED. Assist in
developing public relations and communications strategies to support program goals and increase community
awareness.

• Coordinated and expanded program activities for the deaf in the greater Washington, DC, Virginia, and
Maryland area.

ASL Teacher
Instructed high school students (grades 9-12) in ASL and Deaf Culture, working with school and district
administrators to increase class enrollment and student interest.
Accomplishments:
• Lobbied for ASL as a World Language or Elective Credit for graduating seniors and for entrance into
