- Shared information - I found pictures, addresses, even Amazon wish list for classmates
- Standardize software - OS, browsers, plug-ins - especially for business
- Update and patch current software, apps, anti-malware
- Clear browsing history, cookies, clipboard data, shut off devices when not used
- Use network and desktop protection - firewall, intrusion detection or prevention systems (IDS, IPS)
-Educate yourself, co-workers, family or employees on cyber security risks
- Public VPNs or hotspots are not always secure - use caution - data is easy to capture
