2. INTRODUCTION TO BALI

Seminyak sits a little way along
the coast from the famous Kuta
Beach in Bali and provides a
welcome alternative to its brasher
and more crowded cousin.
Seminyak has its own pretty
beaches and there is a feeling of
more space here as the crowds
that descend on Kuta are not as
prevalent in Seminyak. As
Seminyak has a beach it also has
some good surf and you can also
rent a board here and ride the
waves or just stick to swimming
or sunbathing.
5. SANUR
Sanur Beach is a former
fishing village that still has a
relaxed coastal ambience. It’s
on the eastern side of the
island's isthmus and is the
opposite of Kuta, both in
location and characteristics. It
has managed to cling on to its
charm and a wealth of arts
and culture, making it a great
place to enjoy both classic and
contemporary attractions

Bali Besakih Temple is
the biggest Hindu temple in
Bali which the local people
call Pura Besakih. It owns

7. TAMAN AYUN TEMPLE
Taman Ayun is a major
temple and landmark in
the village of Mengwi,
17 km northwest of
Denpasar. The temple
complex is well-known
for its magnificent
traditional architectural
features spread
throughout its
courtyards and
enclosures. The temple
also has expansive
gardens with beautiful
lotus-filled fish ponds.
8. MOUNT AGUNG
Mount Agung or Gunung
Agung is a currently
active volcano in Bali,
Indonesia, southeast of
Mt Batur volcano, also in
Bali. Gunung Agung
stratovolcano is the
highest point on Bali. It
dominates the
surrounding area,
influencing the climate,
especially rainfall
patterns.
9. PURA GUNUNG KAWI
One of Bali's oldest and most
important monuments, this
river-valley complex consists
of 10 huge candi cut out of
rock faces. Each is believed
to be a memorial to a
member of 11th-century
Balinese royalty. Legends
relate that the whole group
was carved out of the rock in
one hard-working night by
the mighty fingernails of
Kebo Iwa. You'll need to be fit
to explore here, as access to
the valley and shrines is via a
steep 250-step staircase.
10. PURA LUHUR BATUKARU
Pura Luhur Batukaru is a
Hindu temple in Tabanan,
Bali, Indonesia. Located
on the southern slope of
Mount Batukaru, Bali's
second-highest volcano,
the temple is one of nine
kayangan jagat meant to
protect Bali from evil
spirits.
