• Aim: is to identify factors, assessing their impact
on alcohol consumption of young people in
Kazakhstan

4. • Hypothesis
• Consumption of alcohol by
parents has a positive effect on
alcohol consumption by a young
generation (both for actual fact
and for volume).
5. • The data collected during 2015 shows that the domestic
consumption of alcohol of people over 15 years in
Kazakhstan is just over 17.7 million liters per year.

6. • Data Analysis
• Young people most often consume alcohol at parties and
at home, that says about the importance of the factor of
socialization and alcohol consumption by other family
members.
• From the analysis of RLMS-HSE data it is clear that
young people (from 16 to 23 years old) chooses for
consumption, mainly, low-alcohol drinks: cocktails and
beer. In 2009, 56% of young people consumed beer, dry
wine - 21%, vodka - 17%.
7. • From the analysis of RLMS-HSE the sample of young people was
1118 people: 513 boys and 605 girls at the age of 16 up to 23 years.
• The groups of men and women considered were divided into
subgroups working and non-working individuals.

8. • Conclusion
• Hypothesis on the impact of parents'
consumption on the facts and volumes
consumption of alcohol by children was fully
confirmed. Was found, that the fact of alcohol
consumption by one of the parents over the last
30 days has a positive effect on the fact alcohol
consumption by young people, frequent use – on
volumes of consumption.
9. • Recommendations
• Negative impact of parents' bad habits on
children’s behavior was confirmed. Here you
can pay attention to the fact that young people
themselves will become parents in the near
future, and will set an example for they
children.
• Important educational measures may be
parents whose goal is to increase the culture
of "parenthood", quality parenting of their
role in the development of healthy children.
