To stay safe while working offline: Don’t delete anyone else’s pictures
or files.
Don’t copy anyone’s work.
Change your passwords.
To stay safe on the computer while you are online: Change your
passwords often.
Never give out your personal information.

3. SOCIAL NETWORKING
Safety on social networking is very important. The dos and
don’ts:
DO: Collaborate and share ideas with each other.
Answer any teacher questions, and answer any teacher
assignments.
DON”T: Go to inappropriate sites.
Post anything inappropriate.
Call anyone inappropriate names.

4. ETHICAL USE OF INTERNET MATERIAL
INCLUDING VIDEOS, MUSIC, AND PRINTED
MATERIAL
• It is important to use the internet in a ethical way. Some ways
to do this are: Do not print anything without permission. Do
not print anything out without permission and that includes
songs. DO not share anyone else’s work, pictures, or comments
without that persons permission. Don’t go to inappropriate
sites or post anything inappropriate. Once you are given
permission to use something, make sure you give that person
the credit for it.

5. COPYRIGHT GUIDELINES
• Do not copy anything without permission.
• Follow your school sites policy on copyright issues.
• Do not download anything without permission.

6. METHODS FOR CHECKING FOR
PLAGIARISM
• There are many sites you can use to check for plagiarism.

7. PROPER CITATION METHODS
• Make sure you are citing where you got the material from.
• Use APA format or whatever format your school district uses.
