This decision tree provides a process for determining if a step in a process is a critical control point (CCP). It involves assessing if there is a risk in the step, if preventative measures exist, if control is necessary for safety, if the step is designed to eliminate risk, and if subsequent steps can further reduce risk. If the answers follow a path that leads to "CCP", then that step should be designated as a critical control point.
