Undergraduate Assistant Work on projects involving casting and machining of metals and advanced composite
technologies. Project scope ranges from commercial mass production of products to the creation of custom pieces like a
carbon and glass fiber sheath made using resin infusion to seal a crack in an elephant tusk at the Birmingham Zoo.
Instrumental in operating many pieces of heavy machinery and led the night shift crew when necessary so that production
deadlines could be met when under contract.

Student Project Lab Led team developing a Central Venous Line (CVL) Simulator for the UAB Office of Inter-
Professional Simulation. Using vacuum chamber technology, we worked to create a reusable, anatomically correct model of
the human torso and neck that allowed students and physicians to practice using ultrasound to visualize the internal
jugular vein when inserting a catheter.

Children’s Hospital of AL. Device to be implemented during the Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy with Choroid Plexus
Cauterization procedure (ETV/CPC) neurosurgeons use to treat pediatric hydrocephalus.
