Pharmacy or college / workplace sick bay ?
The journey from Millom to Barrow
takes 50 minutes each way and in
many cases could be prevented. The
scheme, which is currently being
piloted, involves a triage room in
Waterloo House GP Surgery in
Millom which is equipped with a High
Definition camera and monitor. There
is a similar facility at the Emergency
Department in Furness General
Hospital to allow two way
consultations to take place.

Depending on what the patient’s data shows up their needs are assessed and
s/he may get a primary care intervention or attention from a Geriatrician e.g.
an urgent out-patient appointment or an urgent / emergency admission to
hospital.
