About
I am Co-Director of the Centre for IP & Information Law, Professor of Law and the Open Society and Trinity Hall WYNG Fellow in Law at the University of Cambridge. Before joining Cambridge in 2013, I spent six years as a research fellow at the University of Oxford. My current research explores the nature of Data Protection especially as it intersects with the right to privacy, freedom of expression, freedom of information and freedom of research. My Data Protection and the Open Society project has developed arguments about the nature, substance and operation of the law drawing on rigorous comparative systematic analysis using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
