Central Dispatch 911.
On Tuesday, Walls said
that the heating system

if revenues improved.

$85,000 fee.
Final figures on the

outside, though. Couch-
hopping — a phrase that
refers to moving from
house to house when
one has no place to live
— is one of the biggest
concerns among youth in
the county.
Branch County resi-
dents are also some of the
most giving, often donat-
ing to charitable causes
and providing for those in
need.
The Coach Eby Youth
and Family Center is
among those in need
of assistance from the
county. With the cement
being poured for the
soon-to-be community
kitchen at the southeast
corner of the more than a
century-old armory, the
faithful prayers of many
are becoming a reality.
The generosity of and
prayers from the center’s
staffandboard,theDearth
Trust, construction and
other crews, volunteers
and many faithful donors
is what has brought this
community need to frui-
tion. But, that’s not where
the need ends.
“We need help sus-
taining the kitchen once
it is open,” Eby Center
Director Dave Anderson
said. “We need the com-
munity’s help to make
the kitchen successful for
anyone who needs it.”
The center — home to
Friday Night Alive, Coats
for Kids and Families, and
a spot for the Meet Up and
Eat Up program through
Coldwater Community
Schools — has been pro-
viding support to youth
and the community at
large for decades.
A local mother of five,
SamanthaLaFountain,has
utilized the summer Meet
up and Eat Up program for
two years.
“My husband and I
appreciate this program,
because it’s a great place
— a safe place — for our
kids to play, explore and
let some energy out, and
the Andersons are great
people,” she said.
