Two entrances from the existing hospital for direct access to PET area and Cylotron area
External marble cladding of all the external walls
Parking areas for doctors and perimetral sidewalks
External lightening system will increase the atchitectural characteristic of the building
Green areas will surround the building
MECHANICAL SYSTEM
The main parts of the system are:
power supply and electrical room cooling;
sanitary system: cold and hot water; normal sewage system; hot sewage system (potentially activated); fire
protection network (hydrants and gas fire extinguishing system);
medical gases;
pure and ultrapure gases;
S.C.A.D.A. (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition).
High Efficiency Terminal Filter for the highest standards of air purity and aseptic conditions in medicine, biology,
pharmacy and in many sensitive areas of technology. Available in housings of three different depths.
The H.V.A.C. (Humidification and Ventilation Air Conditioning) plant consists of:
two A.H.U. (Air Handling Unit): one for the classified rooms in the FDG Production area and one for the non
classified rooms;
EXT Chimney with final filter for the rooms with potentially activated air;
4 ways fancoils ceiling mounted in a part of the rooms.
All the cooling sistems of the building are fed by two chillers air cooled type. In the technical room are located the
pumps and the collectors for distribute the chilled water to the systems.
All the pipework for distribute the chilled water are in stainless steel AISI 304. Valves and other components will be in
cast iron (flanged components), brass or bronze (threaded components). Insulations are made of elastomer foam
covered with 6/10 alluminium sheet in the technical room.
The sanitary installations are designed to achieve a standard of installation which provides the following:
free flowing plumbing systems;
freely ventilating plumbing systems;
rodding eyes, access doors etc., which are readily accessible and which will facilitate the easy maintenance of all
parts of the systems;
durable materials of first class quality;
systems which maintain their integrity during their operational lifespan.
The fire protection network comprehend water hydrants and an inert gas fire extinguishing system. The gas used is
nitrogen at constant discharge pressure; the bottles are stored in the technical room.
This innovative solution utilises a 300 bar reservoir pressure restricted to 60 bar pressure at the valve outlet, which
ensures extinguishant flow is at a constant rate throughout the discharge time. This eliminates the pressure peak at
the beginning of the extinguishing process, which can reduce pipe diameters and the size of any overpressure vents.
Medical gases (oxygen and medical compressed air) are distributed in the building. The gas bottles are stored in the
gas storage and the distribution to the utilities is part on the roof of the building and part inside the building. All the
circuits of compressed air shall be executed in copper.
Pure and ultrapure gases are distributed in the FDG production area. The gas bottles are stored in the gas storage.
The gases are: helium; ultrapure helium; nitrogen; hydrogen.
S.C.A.D.A. is an up-to-date family of freely programmable management and automation stations for the full spectrum
of building services applications. With system functions such as alarm management, time scheduling, and trend
logging, combined with sophisticated control functions, S.C.A.D.A. is a highly versatile asset in a building. Innovative
Web technology, high-performance open databases and open communications make S.C.A.D.A. wise investment in
the future.
