2. OUR MESSAGE
• From the get go; we knew that we wanted something big, meaningful
and powerful.
• We spent a lot of time going back and forth on what type of mural we
wanted; permanent or mobile.
• A permanent stamp at Nottingham High School is what we finally
decided on.
• The Nottingham Bulldogs was our inspiration for the image.
• Theme: Diversity was our goal, we wanted to portray that we are equals
no matter the age, race, gender, ability, social economic class,
orientation, etc.
• Pop Art was also an inspiration because it represents color being used
together (diversity!).
• Quote: We needed something that expressed our art and theme.

• Lavender/vanilla oil was added to the paint to create a calming effect
when people stop and take it all in.
• The response from Nottingham has been great! Staff and students truly
appreciate the new mural in the hall.
