FabLabs are technical prototyping platforms for innovation and invention, sharing common tools and processes with
a global network of 700+ labs across the world--all affiliated with the MIT. These labs provide a platform from which a
community’s technical challenges can be shared with this international network, which can help problem solve and
design solutions with and for the community.

In its exploration stage, FabKids represents offering fab workshops to children and teenagers of internally-displaced
communities; FabMobile is setting up mobile fablabs and bringing these tools to communities that otherwise would not
have an easy access to these resources; and FabPublic stands for setting up fablabs in public spaces (such as public
libraries).
