• Abide by the rules of squash as set out by the World Squash Federation (WSF).
• All players and associates to abide by the regulations, policies and codes of conduct as set out by Squash Australia. To

• Play in the spirit of the game of squash and refrain from conduct that would bring the sport into disrepute.
• The player must be a registered and insured member with their state/territory or country association/national body.
• All matches will be the best of five games with point a rally (par) scoring to 11 points and must win by 2 points.
• There will be no qualifying event for this tournament.
• Draw size will be dependent on the entries received.
• All players are to be under 21 years of age at the commencement of the tournament.

• Players must report to the control desk 30 minutes prior to their scheduled match time.

• Any withdrawal from the tournament after the draw has been finalised will result in the forfeiture of entry monies
unless a medical certificate is produced.
• Please note if you are an entrant in the Australian Open and make the 2nd round of the draw you will automatically
be withdrawn from the Rising Star draw.

WHAT ARE RECS?
RECs are Renewable Energy Certificates
which are a non-means tested
incentive to discount the upfront cost
of renewable energy systems. A REC
is created by generating 1 mega-watt
hour (MWh) of renewable energy. This
offsets the consumption of 1MW of
non-renewable energy, reducing our
carbon footprint and helping Australians
to meet our Renewable Energy Target
of 20% additional renewable energy
production by 2020.
A REC is traded on a market similar
to the stock exchange for cash. When
you purchase and install an eligible
renewable energy system, RECs are
calculated on the FUTURE amount of
energy that will be generated by your
system over a set period of time.
The number of RECs that your renewable
energy system is able to create depends
on the size of your system (rated
output) and its location. Australia has
been divided into 4‘Solar Zones’which
represents the number of light hours.
Depending on which Solar Zone your
system is located will determine the
number of RECs you can create.

How the grid
connect system
works

Solar panels produce DC electricity
from sunlight. The inverter converts this
electricity to mains voltage alternating
current. It is connected to the utility meter.
Your production is fed into the mains grid.
The utility meter records two data: the kWhs
produced by the solar system and your
electricity consumption. Your electricity
retailer reduces your bill by the value of
what you sell. Depending on the size of your
system, you can even get a credit balance.
The cells or thin film circuits of the solar modules are
specially manufactured to respond to light by producing
electric current. The scientific term for“ solar electricity“ is“
photovoltaic“ energy–which means electricity from light.
The more light the cells get, the more electricity that can be
produced. These cells when connected together, laminated
and framed, are called a‘solar module’.

For properties that are already connected to the 240V AC mains power grid, there is obviously no
pressing requirement to generate and store sufficient power for the entire property, nor to prepare for
periods where no solar power can be generated by the solar modules. This means that a grid-tied
array can be as small or as large as you want - depending on your expectations and finances.
Overwhelmingly, the choice is to roof-mount a solar array. Ideally, the array should be north facing,
and at an angle of elevation so that the plane of the modules lies at 90 degrees to the sun for most of
the day. This provides a close approximation to the position in which a solar array produces its
maximum output. All systems should be installed by an accredited BCSE installer.

REMOTE AREA POWER
Known as Remote Area Power Supplies (RAPS), these systems are becoming more common in less
remote areas. They are more complex and expensive than grid connected systems because they need
to be self-sufficient.
The system should be designed to meet the required household load. Excess energy generated is
stored in batteries for use when the renewable source is not available. The battery bank should be
sufficient to provide power for several days.
RAPS systems are usually installed where electricity supply is not available or connection costs are
high. However, some people install RAPS to be independent from the mains supply or to have reliable
power in areas where blackouts are common.

diaphragm, vane, and piston pumps. These differ from a conventional centrifugal pump that needs to
spin fast to work efficiently. Centrifugal pumps are used where higher volumes are required.

The fourth quarter of 2005 saw
several continuing trends:
polarisation of markets towards
discount and premium, consumer
generated media such as blogs
and podcasts, the metamorphosis
of TV, how to encourage and
measure word-of-mouth, and
how marketers may begin to
address these significant shifts.
Perhaps more importantly, it is
increasingly clear that marketers
should stop talking among
themselves and start speaking to
business leaders in a language
they understand.
Other buzzwords to heed (including
buzz marketing) are dialogues,
presence marketing, and boomers.
While companies are wondering
how to have dialogues with their
customers, it is clear most are
not having a dialogue. They are
still delivering a monologue.
Presence marketing suggests that
marketing will continue to look for
new channels where it can meet
the customer. But what age is this
elusive customer?
These trends all suggest a polarisation
of power. Originally the power was
in the hands of companies. Now the
wheel has turned.
The simple life
Few people have not at some point wished for a simple
life. If we apply a simplicity philosophy to marketing, it
becomes clear that marketing often makes life more
complicated, not simpler. In fact, marketers themselves
admit they have helped to make life more complex (78%
of UK marketers said so). Even so, it is not all their fault.
Technology has its part to play. In fact, an innate fear
of technology, or being left behind, can lead people to
upgrade before they need to (“tyranny of the upgrade”).
People may also choose
something with features
that exceed those they
really need. The paradox
of enhancement describes
the fact that people buy
something based on
certain features, and
do not see the difficulty
they will face in learning
to use these features.
Unsurprisingly they
never learn to use them.

brand that goes some
way to addressing the
unnecessary complexity
of mobile phones, far
beyond helping to facilitate
conversations.

The same complexity
also underlies branding.
Much of the hype around
branding fails to recognise
that people are looking for
a product that is “simply
better” than the others in
the category. Perhaps the
category counts more than
the brand for a customer,
because they can live
without a certain brand of
toothpaste but they cannot
live without toothpaste.
