Tips for travelling with kids
1. Tips for travelling with kidsShare on Twitter
Travelling with children can be a challenge because taking into account
the kid's needs involves a lot more than just making toilet stops and
carrying many suitcases. However, it is not something unachievable, but
it requires organisation and discipline. If you are planning a trip to
Greece with your children, read these tips and make your life easier.
Take your time
The kids love to explore every small detail, and they don't care about any
limitations and hurry. Whether you are at the airport or sightsee, take
extra time in order not to feel anxious.
Be prepared for the weather
The kids will be happier in a new environment if they are dressed
comfortably according to the weather, and they don't feel cold or hot.
With all the necessary gear available, they will be ready to explore the
new world you show them.
The apps are your friend
Load your device (your smartphone or your tablet) with games and apps
that your children love. These applications will keep them busy during
the flight, the dinner or a conversation you want to make with your
partner.
Have a first-aid kit
2. Children always seem to get ill on holidays. Maybe, the unhealthy food,
the jet lag or the change in their environment are at fault, but the thing is
it that you don't want to spend your vacations in a hotel room because
your kid has fever. So, don't forget to have a kit with medicine, antiseptic
wipes, plasters, and a thermometer.
Involve your older children in the planning
You might think that your teenager daughter or son spends the whole
day on the internet, but this is not true. Older children are interested in
new places, and sometimes, the only thing you have to do is to ask them
about their opinion. They will not get bored if they feel that you are taking
into account their wishes.
3. Write your mobile number
If you are going to travel through busy airports and crowded places, you
should be very careful with your children. Write your mobile number on
their arms in case they get lost.
Reward your child with presents
Small toys can function as a reward if your child stays quiet for a long
time or during an important activity. You can give them delicious snacks,
stickers or soft teddy-bears.
Plan ahead
That is the most important tip. Double-check the flight schedule, print
your boarding passes at home, and be informed about the permitted
items in your hand luggage. Don't do anything at the last minute.
