Professional Biography:
Daniel thrives in inter-disciplinary settings and is dedicated to advancing diversity and
sustainability efforts through cultivating multi-disciplinary skills and relationships. His
professional experience is rooted in architectural design, construction and community service in
the Southern California region. As an architectural designer working on affordable senior
housing, elementary schools, and mixed-use infill developments, Daniel interfaced with a wide
array of clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, community stakeholders, and public officials.
He honed his abilities to synthesize their concerns and visions into compliant construction
documents and completed buildings. As a volunteer within the Los Angeles Community Garden
Council and CA State Parks, Daniel expanded his collaborative design skills into the realm of
landscape design, conservation, GIS analysis, cartography, community development and
sustainable agriculture. Most recently, Daniel worked as an Organic Agriculture Technician for
UC Santa Cruz, managing 12,000 sqft of greenhouse operations and plant sales, and teaching
ecological horticulture on the 26 acre UCSC Farm.
He is a LEED Accredited Professional, HACCP certified Professional, certified EPA Basic
Inspector, certified GIS Technician, and certified Ecological Horticulturalist.

Personal Biography: Daniel grew up working in a family run multi-ethnic grocery store which
greatly shaped his work ethic, curiosity, and lifelong love for the studying, growing, cooking and
sharing of good food. Hence, he’s an avid gardener, reader, and cook.
