Summary Professional engineer, certified energy manager with experience in energy,
construction and facility management.
Experience Energy Management
Responsible for district wide energy management; procurement of energy and cost
stabilization of $17.2 million energy budget. Serve as the district liaison to utility
providers. Prepare energy models and databases. Perform utility rate analysis and
monitor monthly utility cost and consumption using EnergyCenter energy
accounting software and EPA Portfolio Manager. Provide monthly financial
information for utility cost and consumption across the district. Responsible for
identifying energy savings projects and developing programs to drive down
consumption. Provide oversight of the daily operations of energy management
building automation control systems. Initiated and manage the district demand
response program.
Construction Management
Owner’s representative for new construction and renovation projects from project
inception to close out. Prepared program of requirements. Selected consultants.
Reviewed plans and specifications for conformance with campus design standards,
constructability and energy efficiency. Prepared bid documents, reviewed bid
tabulation and selected contractors. Monitored work performed by contractor for
conformance to plans and specifications, campus safety policy, and schedule.
Reviewed and approved applications for payment by consultants and contractors.
Completed close out; punch list, asbuilts and record documents.
Facility Management
Responsible for management and operation of the Building & Grounds Department
and all physical facilities of the Columbus City Schools. The B&G team consists of
99 employees with outside contractors supplementing the department's capabilities.
Facilities consist of 134 buildings with 9.7 million gross square feet of space on
1,500 acres of land. The annual operating budget is in excess of $29 million. Direct
the activities of 7 supervisors, 2 administrative assistants and 89 trade workers
comprising the functional work groups of; landscape, electrical, electronics, HVAC,
energy management, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, locksmith, painting, preventive
maintenance, fire equipment safety, customer service, planner estimators,
warehouse, card access, security cameras & asbestos abatement. Developed five
year strategic capital plan and annual operating budgets.
