Published July 6th, 2011 - 12:47 GMT
Press Release [1]
Samsung announced the launching of the Samsung GALAXY S II (Model GT-
I9100) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a leading mobile phone provider, announced
the launching of the Samsung GALAXY S II (Model GT-I9100) in the Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia, GALAXY S II is the thinnest (8.49mm), and lightest (116gm),
Galaxy S II is supported by 1.2GHz dual-core processor that coalesces the
ultimate viewing experience with incredible performance. Targeting the tech-
savvy generation that continues to grow, Samsung GS II proves capable of
meeting all expectations.
This smart phone utilizes the latest version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the
fastest growing mobile operating system, inclusive to access of Samsung’s
newest four content and entertainment hubs; providing instant access to
social networking services, games, e-reading and music applications. This
operating system support users logging to Android market where they will
enjoy with more than 300,000 applications that cover different needs including
3D high definition games, reading books, news and Magazines, and more…
and what is extraordinary is that most of these applications are completely
free of charge!
The Samsung Galaxy S II has been equipped with Samsung’s newest crystal-
clear Super AMOLED Plus screen (at 4.3”), the most advanced mobile visual
display ever created. Raising the bar of quality viewing on mobile phones,
Super AMOLED Plus introduces the best in quality concerning color gamut,
contrast ratio and edge sharpness. Incorporating RealStripe screen
technology and a greatly increased sub-pixel count, Super AMOLED Plus
makes images look clearer and more detailed than ever before. Even with its
unsurpassed performance, the Super AMOLED Plus display does not
negatively effect battery performance. A significant reduction in power
consumption means it is also more energy-efficient than other comparably-
sized devices, allowing Samsung to minimize device weight.
Samsung has introduced a new range of enterprise mobility solutions,
expanding the business capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S II and helping
customers empower a flexible and connected mobile workforce. Partnering
with IT industry heads to integrate the most relevant enterprise solutions to
the Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung has worked faultlessly on the Android
Gingerbread platform and paid special attention to securing data and network.
Included in these solutions are; enhanced conferencing and connectivity
services from Cisco, the most comprehensive mobile implementation of
Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and secure remote device management from
Sybase. In the same time users can create, view and edit different documents
such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel and PDF
The Samsung Galaxy S II has also been equipped with an 8.0MP, high profile
rear camera, that takes numerous shots such as panorama shot, action shot
and cartoon shot, a front 2.0MP camera, and camcorder with 1080p full HD
recording and playback.
Dr. Ayman Mannaa, Marketing Manager at Samsung Electronics KSA
articulates, “Samsung has selected the Galaxy S II smart-phone as its
premium mobile product with which to launch Samsung Hubs – integrated
mobile applications designed to meet the most popular needs. With Samsung
Hubs, the Samsung Galaxy S II conveys the Readers Hub, providing a library
that contains over 2.2 million books, newspapers and magazines on-the-go.
The Social Hub, the future of communications, allows the user to access all
types of messages (push e-mail, text, VM and SNS), and communicate all
through one place – the contact list, without having to resort to individual
applications. Last but not least, the Music Hub acts as a personal music
manager and allows access to over 12 million tracks from 7digital. Users can
search, recommend and receive recommendations on albums, enjoy previews
and download them directly onto the device.”
Dr. Mannaa continues, “Android market is supported with 300,000
applications that accompany you in a long journey, work, 3D HD games,
reading, travelling applications, and so much more… and most of these
applications are completely free of charge.”
“In coherence with the enhanced voice technology on the Samsung Galaxy S
II, customers will be able to “do more with less”. Samsung Voice Solution will
recognize the voice commands and allow opening an application, controlling
the messaging, social media, e-mail and calling. Samsung Voice Solution will
also recognize voice and convert it to text and vice versa. Customized Voice
Translation application makes the Samsung Galaxy S II the perfect travel
companion, translating voice or text into and from a range of languages,”
concludes Dr. Mannaa.
Introducing Kies Air, consumers can now manage their smartphone contents
from their PC, via local WiFi connections. For added connectivity, WiFi Direct
allows consumers to connect to wireless-enables PCs and printers without the
need for wireless access points.
The Galaxy SII incorporates a dual-core application processor and advanced
wireless network (HSPA+ 21) connectivity, crafting the speed and power to
provide an unprecedented mobile performance. Dual-core application
processors brings forth compelling features such as fast web browsing, multi-
tasking (comparable to a PC-like setting), supreme graphics quality and
instantly responsive 3D user interface. Along with the super-fast HSPA+
connectivity, the GS II offers rapid mobile download speeds while BlueTooth
3.0+HS reduces data transfer times considerably.
It is worth mentioning that the new sensor technologies in the Samsung
Galaxy S II include four Gyroscope sensors; (Turn Over) to switch from
normal profile to silent by simply turning the device over, (Tilt) a zooming
option, zoom in/out by simply moving the device towards or away from you,
(Panning) switch applications or change information by moving the device left
or right, and (Double Tap) tap twice on the top of the device to activate voice
command.
An internal memory of 16GB supported by adding a microSD external memory
card (up to 32GB) caters to the different options the device offers, to fit
