An insomniac gives some helpful tips on ways to cure insomnia.

1. Are You An Insomniac?
First, you have my sympathies. I’ve been battling
insomnia for years. If you’re like me, and don’t want to
take prescription medication for your insomnia I’d like
to share a few things that have helped me get a good
night’s sleep every now and then.

2. Take a Bath before
Bedtime

3. Drink Herbal
Decaffeinated Tea

4. Listen to Classical Music or
Relaxation CDs

5. Do Some Deep Breathing
Exercises or Meditate

6. Ask Your Partner to Give
You a Massage before Bed

7. Eat a Low-Protein, High Carb
Snack an Hour before Bed

8. Eat Foods High in the Amino
Acid L-tryptophan (warm or
hot milk , eggs, cottage
cheese, chicken, turkey and
cashews) an hour before
Bed

9. Get Some Exercise during
the Day

10. Keep a Regular Bedtime
Schedule

11. If You Can’t Sleep, Get Up and
Do Something Else

12. These are just some of the
things that have helped me.
