she maintains offices in other areas of the state. Alongside her everyday legal work,
Cynthia Miller is a longtime member of the Illinois State Bar Association (ILBA).
Diversity and inclusion are part of ISBA’s core values and are included in all aspects of
its operations. The organization strives for this through the continual recruitment of
lawyers from diverse backgrounds. The ISBA also has six standing committees that
comprise its Diversity Leadership Council. The council was restructured in 2016 to
better serve people from diverse backgrounds and promote more inclusion within the
legal profession. The committees that make up the council are tasked with community
outreach and developing expertise in areas of the law that affect individuals from
underrepresented backgrounds such as those with disabilities, racial/ethnic minorities,
