RE: Electrical Engineer
October 16, 2015
Dear Talent Acquisition,
In December my current employer, Konecranes, is closing the facility at which I work. I have
begun a job search and look to continue in the area of controls engineering. I have identified the
Electrical Controls Engineer as a potential fit for my skills and drive to forward my career from
an Electrical Product Engineer.
My current goal is to use my experience as an Electrical Product Engineer and apply it to the
Order Engineer position. My long-term goal is to become a Project Engineer as my engineering
career grows. I am also interested in pursuing my Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
In the electrical controls industry, I have extensive experience diagnosing failed electronics and
troubleshooting malfunctioning variable frequency drives and crane control systems in an ISO
9001 certified company. I work closely with design engineers to correct non-functional designs.
Cross-functional training with manufacturing and engineering has been the foundation of my
success. My ability to communicate with multiple departments has been crucial in my
professional development. The experience I have gained as an engineer in manufacturing and
testing crane controls is an excellent foundation that leads to accurately designing, developing
and implementing electron devices and controls.
I look forward to discussing my qualifications with you in person. You can contact me directly
at (262) 748-5777. Should my skills be more suited for another position, I would like to be
considered for that position. Thank you for reviewing my resume and cover letter.
Sincerely,
Curtis Raatz
