Dear Potential Employer,
My name is Crystal Fuller. I am writing you today to apply for a maintenance and/or a welding position. I
am a recent graduate of Central Alabama Community College in Alexander City, AL. While attending CACC, I
earned my Associate’s Degree in Occupational Technology, a Long, and Short Certificate in Welding. I
graduated in May 2015 with a 3.5 Accumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. Although, GTAW (TIG) is one of my
strongest points, I am very knowledgeable of all types of welding processes and equipment. I can weld in all
positions and my welds will pass bend, x-ray or tensile testing. I have an adept ability to create, read and
interpret blue prints and layouts. I am proficient at reading and following work orders, using a tape measure,
dial caliper and micrometer, also plasma and oxy-fuel cutting processes.
I am very confident in my skills as a welder, maintenance person, team member and leader. I am goal
oriented and focused. I am looking for a company that offers advancement, for myself, and that company
overall. I am willing to relocate or travel as needed. One of my future goals is to become a certified weld
inspector, to advance my knowledge in welding, weld inspection, and related tasks.
A small number of my accomplishments, while attending CACC include:
• I was the 2013-2014 Student Chapter Chairman of American Welding Society. While in office, our
chapter sponsored and hosted events, such as a Boy Scout Merit Badge Camp. Where 8, 9, 10-year-
old boys got earned a merit badge for wire welding and plasma arc cutting. We raised benefits for relay
for life. I hosted an array of meetings and arranged for speakers, including hosting a meeting for the
Auburn Professional Chapter. I was awarded the 2014-2015 AWS District Scholarship for my
outstanding efforts as the Student Chapter Chairman. I am still very involved with AWS and attend and
help with functions. I am now a professional member.
• On February 26, 2015, I was inducted in the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. I’ve been a member of
the National Technical Honors Society since 2014.
• I represented CACC in the SkillsUSA Welding Competition in April 2015.
• I earned N.C.C.E.R credentials through CACC, took several welding classes not required for my
degree, and was a Cum Laude Graduate
These are just a few of memorable moments that stand out in my college experience. Please consider me for
employment. I have attached a copy of my resume and other skills, I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your time,
Crystal Fuller
