2. AQA is pleased to offer you an appointment to moderate for the Summer 2015 series of exams.
Appointment Duration - The date of commencement of this arrangement with AQA is 1 March 2015 and is
expected to run until 31 August 2015.
Notice - AQA requires a minimum of 30 working days’ notice to terminate this arrangement. Where AQA
ceases to require your services, if this is before 31 August 2015, reasonable notice will be provided.
Terms and Conditions of Appointment
The terms and conditions set out in this document are supplemented by the full Terms of appointment which
were e-mailed to you with your Offer of appointment. Please read the information contained within both these
documents carefully, in accepting this offer you are expected to have read, understood and agreed to the
terms contained within this Offer of appointment as supplemented by the full Terms of appointment
document.
You will not be an employee of AQA. You will be classified as self-employed and paid on a fee basis.
Arrangements for the payment of fees, taxes and other liabilities are set out in the full Terms of appointment.
The services you provide to AQA are on an ad hoc basis when work becomes available. The work you will
be required to undertake is referred to in the Duties and Responsibilites which has been sent to you with this
offer.
At a later date when entries are known, you will be allocated centres for moderation. Please note that the
provision of work is conditional upon student entry volumes and AQA cannot therefore guarantee to provide
work nor to provide any quota of work. You will be given details of your centre allocation via the AQA
Examiner Extranet. A copy of the specification for the component to be assessed for 2015 is available of
AQA’s website, www.aqa.org.uk
Please note this offer of appointment is made on the condition that you use a personal computer for which
you require a broadband internet connection to complete some of the work required on the series, and to
register on the AQA Examiner Extranet to receive information throughout the exam series.
AQA reserves the right to contact your employer or other third parties who are able to assist us in contacting
you over the return of overdue moderation documents and in the course of this we may disclose the nature
of your involvement with AQA.
Accepting this offer
To accept this offer please complete the Acceptance of appointment form which will be sent to you in the
post and return it within seven days of receipt, using the enclosed addressed pre-paid envelope to
Moderator Appointment and Allocation, AQA, 31-33 Springfield Avenue, Harrogate, HG1 2HW. If you do not
wish to accept this offer, please complete the Decline section of the Acceptance of appointment form and
return. If you do not receive an Acceptance of appointment form within 7 days of receipt of your Offer of
appointment please contact Moderator Appointment and Allocation.
You must also complete the Declaration of personal interest form if you have not yet submitted these details
to AQA for this academic year, this form will also be sent to you in the post. For full details on how your
personal information will be used, stored and protected, and how to request further information from AQA,
please read AQA’s Privacy Statement which can be found on our website, aqa.org.uk.
If there are any changes to your personal details or if you are new to AQA please complete the Amendments
section of the Acceptance of appointment. Any change of address or email address must be notified
immediately toAQA.
Please do not make any travel or hotel reservations if your offer does not include confirmation of the
standardisation venue and time. If not on the Offer of appointment the venue and time will be notified to you
via the AQA Examiner Extranet as soon as the information is available.
