Upgrade to Creo
Parametric 2.0: 12 reasons
to make the transition from
Pro/ENGINEER

What is Creo Parametric 2.0?
Creo Parametric 2.0 is the very latest in 3D parametric modelling
technology. It draws on the established features of Pro/ENGINEER®,
CoCreate®, and ProductView®, as well as hundreds of updates
made as part of the Creo 2.0 launch. The increased capabilities of
Creo Parametric 2.0 allow users to release their design potential, for
a more productive and focused design process. Balancing ease-of-
use with its powerful abilities ensures Creo Parametric 2.0 makes for
instinctive yet effective usability. Discover for yourself the 12 key
reasons you should make the transition from Pro/ENGINEER and
upgrade to Creo Parametric 2.0

1. Increased design capacity
The release of Creo Parametric 2.0 means there are now over 100
additional features and capabilities available for design use, which
are not available in Pro/ENGINEER. These improvements stem from
the limitations of Pro/ENGINEER, answering previous frustrations and
making the design process more productive. There is no longer the
need to compromise on design intent because you have the precise
tools necessary.

2. Fully integrated across Creo range
As part of the Creo range, it is simple to translate data between Creo
Parametric 2.0 and any other Creo app, creating a more integrated
user experience. Sharing data between different users and apps
becomes intuitive. Importantly, upgrading to Creo Parametric 2.0 also
means you retain all existing design models and data from
Pro/ENGINEER. So, the upgrade process will not affect your current
work.

3. Consistent user interface
Get straight to designing, with an instinctive and structured user
interface. Utilise the mini toolbars to highlight the features you need
for a particular project. Plus, if you cannot find a particular function,
there is now a Command Finder to show you where you need to go.
Installation times and connections to help resources have also been
sped up to improve usability of Creo Parametric 2.0

4. Build 3D models from 2D designs
Use Creo Sketch (available to download for free) to generate
freehand 2D drawings, which can then be easily translated into Creo

Parametric for optimised 3D design work. Open up sketch work and
present it next to related 2D and 3D geometry. Plus, it is simple to
relocate, rotate, and adapt the scale of your sketch to enhance your
overall design process.

5. Improved sketching productivity

The sketch developments allow you to make and adapt sketch-based
features with ease. These enhancements mean you can sketch
straight onto models and make references to 3D shapes.
Improvements and efficiencies made to preview features, editing and
autoregeneration further increase design productivity.

6. Experience freedom in concept design
The new Freestyle designing features of Creo Parametric allow you to
model freeform objects and surface with ease. You can design both
uncomplicated and more complex objects using the sub-divisional
modelling abilities, while also providing high-quality engineering
surfaces in record time. With Freestyle, it is possible to accelerate
design work by reusing data for detailed work in 3D.

7. Fast part modelling

Create part-models for designs more efficiently. With Creo Parametric
2.0, key design improvements mean it is quicker and easier to make
models in 3D. For example, enhanced options for making parallel and
rotational blends include sketched sections and also nonparallel
sections. There are also developments such as helical sweeps and
sweep commands, efficient editing and improved previews will allow
you to accelerate design times.

8. Enhanced 3D measurements

Improve usability of 3D measurement tool offers a smart and
instinctive method to 3D measuring. For instance, the enhanced
measurement tool distinguishes and utilises geometric data of the
shapes chosen to provide users the relevant results. Also,
measurements are easily usable within other operations and
directions.

9. Improved sheet metal design

Utilise the benefits of designing with sheet metal. Creo Parametric 2.0
offers users the capability to automatically generate flat patterns from
3D geometry, while also providing advanced previewing and editing

capabilities. Creo Parametric 2.0 allows you to make walls, add
bends, notches, forms and reliefs, all with a fully integrated user
interface

10. Smart interference problem detection

Detect any problems with interfering parts early in the design process.
Creo Parametric checks all aspects of a design and instantly
highlights any potential problem areas for you to address with ease.
You can also correct any problems within the 3D design, to prevent
any costly or time consuming errors later in the design process.

11. Best large assembly design

Accelerate the speed of designing and leveraging large assemblies.
Creo Parametric 2.0 offers loading speeds up to 40 times faster than
previously available. Fast and instinctive search capabilities,
alongside the new ‘Track Changes’ option, means users can better
understand their large-scale assemblies.

12. Add-on extensions

The vast possibilities on offer through the add-on extensions to Creo
Parametric 2.0 mean that you can adapt the tool to match your
precise design requirements. It is easy to expand the scope of Creo
Parametric, by increasing the number of modules and capabilities as
your company requires them.
