4. 1- BASICS OF NETWORKING
• Identify what you want to gain from your networking experience.
• Define your specific skillset and what you have to offer an investor, business
partner, or customer.

you meet at events.

• Follow up with people after an initial meeting to continue to build a
networking relationship.

• Schedule 2 lunches each week with people outside of your network.
• Plan these lunches in advance, and have questions and comments prepared
for each meeting.

• Networking is no longer just about interacting face-to-face; you can also
network virtually.
• Find mentors and send them your resume to keep on file.
• Create a visible online profile through social media, Linked In, or by writing
articles that get you noticed.
• Be active in associations, community groups, and other outside
organizations.
