The Federal government is advancing cloud computing to increase efficiency and reduce costs by consolidating data centers and moving systems to the cloud. However, there are challenges around security, compliance with regulations, and ensuring interoperability between cloud services. Leaders in the Federal cloud computing effort include the Federal CIO and companies working to provide secure cloud solutions for government use.
