Why Technology...Why Engage?
"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I Learn."
 ~ Benjamin Franklin
"The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but
don't tell you what to see." ~ Alexandra K. Trenfor
"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should
teach the way they learn." ~ Benjamin Franklin
"If we teach today's students as we taught yesterday's, we
rob them of tomorrow." ~ John Dewey
TodaysMeetEnhance classroom. Enable discussions. Empower Students.
TodaysMeet gives everyone a voice!
• Known as a 'backchannel'
• Live, Interactive discussion for students and instructor
• Creates a custom URL for instructor/class
• Gives ALL students an opportunity to be heard
• Great for Video Conference class sessions
• Archived for later retrieval
Why don't we give one a try???
Using any web browser, please go to:
todaysmeet.com/flexiblelearning
At NWTC, our full‐time instructors have the opportunity to participate in
Teaching Methods 2.0, a teaching reflection course. During one of the
first activities, we ask our instructors, "What is one student concern you
have and would like to address during this course?"
What do you think the majority of our instructors identify as a student
concern, and why did you pick that concern?
1) Enter a Nickname and click join
2) Enter into the discussion based on the following question:
Wait.....don't put your technology
away yet!
Kahoot!
* A game‐based classroom response system
(think Trivia at Buffalo Wild Wings)
* Web‐based: any device/computer/laptop that can access the Internet
Here's How It Works
1) Users will go to kahoot.it and enter a unique game pin and their name
2) Once all participants are entered into the 'game', instructor will
activate game play
3) Questions will appear up front on screen. First the question, followed
by possible answers. Each question has a time limit!
4) Players/Students will ONLY see the corresponding colors/shapes on
their device
5) Correct answers and speed will be awarded point value
* those using smart devices must keep device active to avoid getting
'kicked' out of game play
How can we help you?
