Chapter 1:
INTRODUCTIO
N
Background of the Study
Parental involvement refers to the
amount of participation parent has when it
comes to the schooling of his/her children. But
sometimes parents have hesitations if they will
involve themselves with their children’s
education. (Bartolome, MT, et al., 2017).
This study is focused in this Grade as it
is when the children show transitions from
childhood to adolescence.
Statement of the Problem
This study aims to examine parental involvement of Grade 7-
10 Students in Agsanayan National High School for the school year
2022-2023. Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions:
1. What is the respondent’s profile in terms of sex, age, grade level,
family income and general wieghted average?
2. What is the level of Parental involvement when taken as a whole
and classified according to sex, age, grade level, family income and
general wieghted average?
3. Is there a signifanct difference in the level of parental involvement
when taken as a whole and classified according to sex, age, grade
level, family income and general wieghted average?
HYPOTHESI
S
1. There is no significant difference
on the Parental involvement of Grade
7-10 students in Agsanayan National
High School for SY: 2022-2023
This study was anchored in the theory of Lev
Vygotsky’s Sociocultural Theory that emphasized the
relationship between human beings and their
environment, both physical and social, in his sociocultural
theory. To him the influences of social and cultural factors
on development and learning are abundant (Vygotsky,
1978).

Parental Involvement among the
students in Agsanayan National High
School would serve as the
independent variable study.
Hypothetical differences and

CHAPTER 2: REVIEW OF
RELATED LITERATUTRE
• Parents play a crucial role in the instructional experiences of their
children (Bracke and Corts, 2012). Schools cannot succeed without
the help of parents.
• Parents can model appropriate behaviors and positive attitudes
towards schools by taking an active interest in their child’s schooling
and thereby demonstrating their own valuing of education (Chen and
Gregory, 2009).
• Recent study also confirmed that Parental involvement in terms of
support to their child’s educational goals and achievements, their
academic socialization also helped (Benner et. al., 2016).
CHAPTER 3:
RESEARCH DESIGN
AND METHODOLOGY
This study utilized the descriptive method of research. As
widely, accepted, the descriptive method of research was a fact
finding study that involves adequate and accurate interpretation
of findings. Descriptive method described a present condition.
RESEARCH
DESIGN
RESPONDENTS OF
THE STUDY
LOCALE OF THE
STUDY
The study was conducted at
Agsanayan National High
School, Agsanayan, Buenavista,
Guimaras.
In this study, the chosen respondents
were selected parents from the group of High
School Students of Agsanayan National High
School. This study used self-administered
questionnaires as the main tool in collecting
data from a number of respondents.
RESEARCH
INSTRUMENT
This study will be a modified
research instrument based from
the research instrument of
Cardosales, et all., (2017)
“Students relationship with
parents: basis for an action plan”
and Kimaro (2003) “Impacts of
parental involvement on school
activities on academic
achievement in primary school
children.
SAMPLING TECHNIQUE
The grouped decided to use
simple random technique under
probability technique. The group
would be going to choose the first to
answer the question in the
questionnaire through draw lots.
DATA GATHERING
INSTRUMENT
To obtain the needed data, a questionnaire was
formulated by the researchers. The instrument
comprises of two parts. Part I personal information
of the respondents, especially educational
attainment and the Part II was about questions
concerning on parental involvement of Grade 7-10
Students of Agsanayan National High School.
DATA GATHERING
PROCEDURE
In order to conduct the survey, the researcher
defined the population first, to gather data on
the Parental involvement of Students in
Agsanayan National High School. The
researchers were made to introduce themselves
first to the respondents as a sort of formal
introduction.
USED
STATISTICAL TOOLS TO BE
USED
The frequency count and
percentage, t-test, and ANOVA
were the statistical tools used to
identify the parental involvement
of Grade 7-10 Students of
Agsanayan National High School.
