3. Background of the Study
Parental involvement refers to the
amount of participation parent has when it
comes to the schooling of his/her children. But
sometimes parents have hesitations if they will
involve themselves with their children’s

13. CHAPTER 2: REVIEW OF
RELATED LITERATUTRE
• Parents play a crucial role in the instructional experiences of their
children (Bracke and Corts, 2012). Schools cannot succeed without
the help of parents.
• Parents can model appropriate behaviors and positive attitudes
towards schools by taking an active interest in their child’s schooling
and thereby demonstrating their own valuing of education (Chen and
Gregory, 2009).
• Recent study also confirmed that Parental involvement in terms of
support to their child’s educational goals and achievements, their
academic socialization also helped (Benner et. al., 2016).
15. This study utilized the descriptive method of research. As
widely, accepted, the descriptive method of research was a fact
finding study that involves adequate and accurate interpretation
of findings. Descriptive method described a present condition.

questionnaires as the main tool in collecting
data from a number of respondents.
17. RESEARCH
INSTRUMENT
This study will be a modified
research instrument based from
the research instrument of
Cardosales, et all., (2017)
“Students relationship with
parents: basis for an action plan”
and Kimaro (2003) “Impacts of
parental involvement on school
activities on academic
achievement in primary school
children.

questionnaire through draw lots.
19. DATA GATHERING
INSTRUMENT
