Eurimages renews mandate Executive Director Roberto Olla

36 member States Eurimages Board of Management reaffirms its confidence in the
Executive Director
At its 126th plenary meeting in Luxembourg on 9 March 2012, the Eurimages Board of
Management decided unanimously, by acclamation, to recommend that the Council of
Albania Europe renew the mandate of Mr Roberto Olla, Executive Director of Eurimages, for a
Austria third two-year term running from 1 July 2012.

Bosnia and Herzegovina Since Roberto Olla took up his duties on 1 July 2008, the Council of Europe’s support
Bulgaria fund Eurimages has welcomed three new member states (Albania, the Russian
Croatia Federation and Georgia) and set up a digital equipment support programme for cinema
Cyprus theatres. Under the guidance of the Executive Director and with the approval of the
Czech Republic Board of Management and its President Mr Jobst Plog, the Eurimages Fund has carried
Denmark out various reforms aimed at meeting the needs and expectations of industry
Estonia professionals and fostering greater transparency in the project selection process.
Finland
France The strategic and political development of the Eurimages Fund has helped it to achieve
Georgia increasing success. Many of the co-productions it has supported have been selected at
Germany major festivals, winning prestigious awards such as the Palme d’Or at Cannes (Das
Greece weisse Band by Michael Haneke in 2009), the Golden Bear at Berlin (Bal by Semih
Hungary Kaplanoglu in 2010) or the Golden Shell at San Sebastian (Pandora’s Box by Yesim
Iceland Ustaoglu in 2008 and Los Pasos Dobles by Isaki Lacuesta in 2011). More recently,
Ireland Eurimages supported films selected in the official competition of the International Berlin
Italy Film Festival last February were awarded the Jury Grand Prix (Just the Wind by
Latvia Benedek Flieghauf), the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay and the Silver Bear for Best
Lithuania Actor (A Royal Affair by Nikolaj Arcel) as well as a special mention in the form of a Silver
Luxembourg Bear (L'enfant d'en haut by Ursula Meier). Special Mention from the Ecumenical Jury
Netherlands and the Panorama Audience Award were also given to the film Parada (The Parade) by
Norway Srdjan Dragojevic.
