Bath Street Art Gallery
Current Site Rendered Images
A gap site located on bath street in glasgow was given as the site for
an art gallery. The task was to replicate the sandstone facades using
3Ds Max and to then produce conceptual internal images for the
proposed gallery.

Four lines have been taken from the site:
- Two lines of sight from the train station to the South-West corner of the town hall and the North-East corner of the Abbey. These create a clear view of these
key buildings as people arrive from the train station.
- The next two lines have been got by simply projecting lines from the North and South edges of the building block in Gilmour street.
To this, the river outline was added with a third line from gilmour street.
These lines together produced the shapes for the three buildings.
The form of these buildings are to be taken as if they are protruding from the ground at an angle.
The proposed masterplan involves the construction of three buildings of different sizes:
- A Library
- A Theatre
- A Restaurant
These buildings are designed so they seem to be coming out of the ground at an angle and will be different materials; glass for the library, concrete for the theatre
and both glass and concrete for the restaurant.
The theatre is situated in the North-West area of the site with and underground carpark benaeth an extended county square.
The library is to be situated along the east edge of the site and is the longest building.
The restaurant is located across an curved bridge over the river from the library on the west side of the site.

Paisley Cultural Arts Development: Library
The Library building is the largest of the three buildings proposed for the development. Situated in the
east of the site the library is orientated along the north/south axis at the river's edge. The building takes
the form of an irregular shaped box protruding out of the ground.
The library is designed to be a social meeting space with the addition of communal work and study
spaces, quiet areas, local history and archives, computer suite, music and art studios and family areas.
the top floor houses a cafe with a terrace, which provides views over the rest of the development and
the town of Paisley, alongside a permanent exhibition space. in addition to this exhibition space there
are plans to have other works of art provided by local artists and photographers placed around the rest
of the building showcasing Paisley's history and talent.

Paisley Cultural Arts Development: Theatre
The Theatre is the next largest building on the site and is the centerpiece of the development. It is
situated in the North East corner of the site at the entrance to paisley from Gilmore Street train station.
This provides the best route into paisley from other areas. Therefore having the theatre located here
means it is the first building to be seen once in the city enticing more people to travel to the theatre.
the Theatre houses a 56 space basement carpark which can be accessed at the entrance to the
county square. The basement level also houses a workshop and a dance studio at the river's edge.
This building takes the form of a concrete box rising out of the ground, half of which has been made into
usable space. The main entrance is located underneath a large concrete structure which falls back
from the roof into the ground. At this point a green area has been created down to the rivers edge
flanked by the concrete structure and the old railway bridge arches.
