Observation:
• Random seismic records viewed from 3 days of production to determine a
representative % of dead and noisy traces.
• Dates selected were from days before and after a the 3 day shutdown for
rain.
• Dead trace: A trace that has 0 amplitude for the entire record length, due
to a damaged GSR box, dead battery or a bad connection.
• Noisy Trace: A trace that has no useable data for the entire record length,
usually due to a bad geophone plant.
• Noisy Traces Not Counted: If the source of the noise was beyond the
control of the crew. Such as noise from road and highway traffic,
helicopter/LZ activity, pump jacks, oil field activity, powerlines, power
stations, etc.
