EASY STAR ALLSTARS ANNOUNCE RERELEASE
10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF RADIOHEAD TRIBUTE ALBUM, RADIODREAD
Radiodread rerelease to be available 8/12/16 on Easy Star Records
Ten years ago, Easy Star AllStars produced a groundbreaking tribute album featuring
songs from the famous British rockstars Radiohead and their wildly popular album OK
Computer (1997). To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of their tribute album, Radiodread ,
the AllStars have announced a special edition of Radiodread to be released August 12th,
2016.
Known for their blend of musical versatility, instrumental prowess, beautiful vocal
harmonies and premier rhythm section, Easy Star AllStars have easily established
themselves as one of the top international reggae acts on the scene today. With their best
selling tribute albums from legendary artists such as Pink Floyd and The Beatles, as well
as their original releases Until That Day EP (2008) and First Light (2011), the AllStars have
gained a reputation worldwide, as they continue to give fans of a variety of genres an
appreciation of authentic reggae music. The AllStars are a collective of artists and
generally have a rotating roster of musicians, yet their core touring lineup has remained
largely intact. This tour lineup consists of: Buford O’Sullivan (trombone), Cliff Simpson
(drums), Elenna Canlas (keyboards, vocals), Ive09 (drums), Jenny Hill (saxophone, flute),
Jared Yee (saxaphone), Joanne Williams (vocals), Kirsty Rock (vocals), Ras I Ray (bass,
vocals), Ruff Scott (DJ, vocals), and Shelton Garner, Jr. (guitar, vocals).
As for the 2006 Radiodread album, the production was coordinated and executed by
Michael Goldwasser (Rebelution, Corey Harris). Michael does a stunning job on the
arrangements considering the many tricky time signatures on the record. The tracks also
feature many notable guest artists, such as Toots and the Maytals, Citizen Cope, and
Frankie Paul. When speaking in regards to the album, ESAS explains how great of an
opportunity the album was to “turn a lot of reggae fans to this great album by Radiohead
and then to turn on plenty of Radiohead fans to reggae.” Radiohead lead guitarist Johnny
Greenwood himself described the tribute album as “truly astounding.”
