Chris Dorich has over 40 years of experience in soccer coaching and administration. He has served as the Director of Soccer for the Utah Soccer Association since 1984 and as the head coach of several college and club teams. Dorich has won numerous coaching awards and championships at both the collegiate and national levels. He holds multiple coaching licenses and degrees in business, technology management, and science.

Education:
Graduated from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, with a BA in science/casting
engineering with a minor in physical education (1975), and received his Masters of Business
Administration from Westminster College in 1996; Master of Science in Technology Management
in 2007 from Westminster College; and Technology Management Certificate from California
Institute of Technology in 2008.
Professional Background:
Chris Dorich is the Director of Transition Engineering and Hardware Development for L3
Communications in Salt Lake City, Utah, until retirement in December 2010.

Currently:
1984 – Present: Director of Soccer for the Utah Soccer Association and Executive Vice-
President.
June 2016 – Present: U18-U19 Head Soccer Coach for Impact United Soccer Club in Salt
Lake City, Utah.
Playing Experience:
NCAA 1969-1971. Played two years of college soccer at Edinboro State College in
Edinboro, Pennsylvania for George Shimpeno, Varsity Soccer Coach (University of
Pittsburgh). Edinboro State were the NCAA II College Conference Champions in 1971.
NCAA 1973-1974. Played at Gannon University (NCAA II).
Club 1972-1974. Played two years of Semi-Pro soccer with the Erie Soccer Club.
Youth Development:
WPSYSA 1977-1982. Started youth, junior high, and high school soccer in Ligonier, PA.
After graduating from college, I was hired by the Ligonier Valley Recreation Board to start
youth soccer. This was completed successfully and the league entered the WPSYSA. After
completion of that task, the Ligonier Valley School District hired me to start high school
soccer. I worked directly for the Superintendent, Bud Carnahan. This was accomplished
successfully.
UYSA 1982-1983. Coached youth soccer in the South Davis Soccer Association in
Bountiful, Utah.
2. Refereeing:
USSF 1977-1981. Referee, in the Keystone Soccer League, Pittsburgh, PA. Officiated semi-
pro soccer in the League for John Page, President of the Keystone Soccer League and Scott
Foley, President of Pennsylvania West Soccer Association.
MISL 1978-1981. Worked for the MISL (Major Indoor Soccer League) as a referee for three
years, under Joe Machnick, Chief Referee and Operations Manager.
WPIAL 1978-1982. Started the Allegheny Soccer Referees Chapter, in Pittsburgh, PA., and
also refereed high school soccer. Served as president of the Chapter.
College Coaching:
NAIA 1976-1977. Coached one year of college soccer at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.
Worked as the assistant coach under John Fogle from Alderson-Broaddus College in
Phillippi, West Virginia.
NAIA 1979-1982. Coached at St. Vincent College along with John Granish. We took the
team from 0-14 to 12-1 and gained national ranking in the NAIA Top Ten, and competed
in two district title games during this time. Two of our players also were recipients of
NAIA All-American Awards.
NAIA 1984-2015. Head Soccer Coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Participated in the NAIA post season tournament 21 out of 30 years, which includes a
Conference Championship in 1994; a District Championship in 1991; and a conference
Coach of the Year award in 1994. Four players have received NAIA All-American awards,
12 players received All-Region All American awards and 111 players have received
Academic All-American awards during this period.
NCAA Division II 2015-2016. Head Soccer Coach at Westminster College in Salt Lake
City, Utah. Westminster joined the NCAA in 2015 and was accepted into provisional status
from 2015 through 2017. All soccer matches during 2015 were played in the Rocky
Mountain Athletic Conference in Denver, Colorado. The team made a good transition for
the first year in the RMAC.
Retired from Westminster College of Salt Lake March 31st, 2016.

USASA 1985-1986. Women's State Select Team Coach for the Utah Soccer Association.
USASA 1987-present. Men's State Select Team Coach for the Utah Soccer Association.
During this period 29 players have been selected to the Regional Select Team player pool,
of which 12 players have been selected to the Regional Select Team, including 4 players
who have been selected to the US National Select Team.
USASA -1987-present. State Coaching Director for the Utah Soccer Association.
3. USASA - 1988-present. Executive Vice President of the Utah Soccer Association.
USASA – 1999 –present: Serving as the Men’s Head Regional Coach winning the National
Sports Festival Championship in 2000, 2001, and 2004. Approximately 30 players from the
Regional Team have participated on the US National Select Team. Approximately 15 of
these players have been drafted by the Major Soccer League.
Men’s Head Coach for Region IV Select Team, and was recently named National Staff
Coach. As a member of the National Staff, Coach Dorich co-ordinates and conducts the
Region IV Select Team Training Camp at the Olympic Training Center in San Diego, CA.
As a national staff coach for the USASA Coach Dorich also develops and assists with
National Select Team Training Camp, which is held at the Home Depot Center in Los
Angeles, CA.
