i love to settle down with a film when it’s raining
and windy outside. i love old films. my favourite
is Doctor Zhivago, with omar Sharif.
LISTEnInG

on a weekend off it’s a treat to have bacon and
tomato for breakfast – heaven. i have it with prune
juice and coffee from my new espresso machine.
REaDInG
i’m currently judging a cookery book
competition so i’m reading lots of recipe books.

a weekend off is a real novelty, so i love having
my grandchildren round. We’ll go for a walk and
i’ll make a lovely, homemade dinner for us all.

wHo? Taron egerton, Hugh Jackman,
keith allen and mark Benton.
wHaT? Based on the true story of
Britain’s first olympic ski jumper,
this film follows youngster michael
‘eddie’ edwards as he works
alongside rebellious coach Bronson
Peary to chase victory and compete
at the 1988 calgary Winter olympics.
wHY? Two beefcakes for the price
of one – cheeky upstart Taron
egerton and Hugh Jackman for those
of us with more, ahem, mature taste.
wHY noT? if even looking at a
ladder gives you vertigo – the views
from the 90m jump will turn your
legs to jelly!
VERDICT: an uplifting Brit flick
about a lovable underdog who
comes good in the end.
