Bad weather in Japan
Just two weeks after the Northern Osaka Earthquake on 18th June 2018, the landslides and floods
provoked by the heavy rains, occurred during 5th-7th July, caused more than 200 fatalities, with 20
people still unaccounted for.
We are dealing with the heaviest rainfalls Japan has experienced in more than three decades. Around
1,500 houses were destroyed or damaged, around 27,000 were flooded, according to the fire and
disaster management agency as at 14:45 on 15th July, and numbers are still increasing.
