7. As the “mother river”of Hangzhou, the East River has raised millions of residents in
this beautiful city. However, she has overloaded domestic waste, which is the original
intention.
To beautify the old river, we put top priority to purify the waste water. We integrate the
solution with eco-systerm and plant landscape. After physics filtration and plant purificatiion,
water quality is improved. Therefore, the water become approachable for people.
It is a nice try to use the knowledge of plant physiology to extend the function of plant
design. It is a real challenge for us undergraduates in these interdisciplinary subjects.
And this is the strenghth of the students in our university.

The gap for dewatering

When rain or snow, the water can penertrate
to the underlayer,keep theground layer drying
for people walking.
In summer the underlayer water evaperate to
surface that will bring heat and cool down the
temperature. At the same time the shadow of
tree also can keep a cooler environment.
In winter, the deciduous tree lost their leaves,
make sunlight cross the tree-top to increase
the environment temperature.

The walk traffic flows is the line that shows on left graph, because the shoping mall
locate on the designed site, so the mainly flow of pedestrian centralize to this plaza,
easpecially the North-South direction. It was nessesary build a underground street
passage to solute the conflict between car and people.

The Olympic Forest Park is a good example of natrual style park. From this
investigation, we conclude that local species account for the most part in the
park. Furthermore, we learneda lot in how to make the most of local trees and
environment to create a favorable habitat.

18. This project aim at to solve the function of exhibition and conference, at the same time,
I have to consider the environment that full of the building which has long history and
high aesthetics value. So in order to adapted the environment, I choice the same style
with other old building. But I design a linghtly and modern atrium to link every function
part, that is also an important space to communication.
