The whole of the character has a black stroke
around it. This makes the character stand out.
The character of Bart has a large head. His head is
disproportionally bigger than his body.
On his clothing such as his shoes and tee shirt there is cell
shading. The colour gets darker and lighter.
The character is made up of some simple shapes such as
rectangles with curves and circles with smaller circles inside
them.
The series has been so successful because people can
recognise the main characters by their shape and colours.
For example, Bart can be recognised by a silhouette, as his
head is very well known. He is also known for having his hands
in his pockets and sloughing over.
