Executive Summary
This document gives a bird’s eye view of our proposed systems, addresses core review
criteria , shares initial draft of our techno functional specifications, supplements our time
schedule and highlights our organization's profile.
What is Consumer Analytics ?
• Data Mining of the customer data for predictive analysis.
Why is Consumer Analytics important ?
• Consumer Analytics is important for the retailers to optimize the supply chain
What is major hindrance to Americanize standard Consumer Analytics to be
localized for INDIA?
• It expects metadata to be generated from the base system – ERP, E-commerce in
place.
• Diminishes the value of Consumer analytics if full grown system needs to be in
place
• Ideal way would be generate the METADATA-without-unavailable-DATA in
INDIAN scenario or any upcoming country
Why is it possible now ?
• Mashable data services. Everything is data but now it is chance not-only to mash
them to metadata but use early-indicators to generate required METADATA.
• Big Raw data in the INDIAN retail space – Need not be customer owns data. Can
be open-source data merged with retailers specific guiding(Leading data
indicator)
• Inference engines based on Loyalty schemes
• What Juggard Loyalty Programs of Inventory
• Analytic programs can derive the demand-data from other open source data. E.g.
Supply of onions in exchange-traded market can serve to help create metadata for
store.
Solution :
Minimum Viable Product (MVP): QuoteYou based Social Marketing platform and
QuoteON based Juggard Loyalty management system. Retailer gets free hand but guided
help to decide on-spot loyalty programs.
• How would missing data problem be addressed : Talking to IBM which has open
sourced WATSON product. It is open sourced last week.
o WATSON is cognitive science product – made famous by chess
competition
o WATSON can be tweeked to judge the missing data
o WATSON scales – So we do not worry about basic infrastructure
o MORE thoughts later.
Assumption :: Small retailers are aware of its supply chain early indicators and ratios of
supply chain on hand.
Minimum Desirable Product (MDP): Mobility based solution
• Create viral marketing ( small target of friends of friends ) of the customer in deal.
• Create negotiating platform and keep JOURNOL of deals.
• Software should no way be hindrance to ingenuity of small traders
Minimum Marketable Product (MMP):
• Software adapts to retailers original selling tactics rather than enforce “Best
Practices of selling”
• Guides based on Social political scenarios – cloud based platform which sanitizes
the economic indicators for platform to help generate Loyalty programs.
• Effectiveness data is in real time shared by friend-retailer_of_retailers –
COLLOBRATIVE Competition – helps ingenuity of being different in loyalty
programs.
Introduction of QuoteYou and QuoteON.
Innovation is the engine that drives a modern economy. Innovation begins with an
observant eye and changes the way the world functions, often gifting solutions that can
make a real difference.
As quoted by Albert Einstein “Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more
complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage – to move in
the opposite direction”.
Language was not born the time the world started its existence. Its need was felt as there
was a need to communicate well, effectively and to the point. Art played a role in using
visual elements like cave paintings to communicate while communicating with signs also
worked for a while. However, what language did was democratizing the ability to
communicate for mankind.
Language also works well when the right words are used at the right time and in the right
context. As it is said, “Brevity is the soul of wit”, the power of communication is
inversely proportional to the number of words used.
How often does it happen that a teacher is able to sum up the essence of an entire lecture
in a few words? How often does it happen that the right quote at a party adds life to it or
the right anecdote during a speech results in a thunderous applause?
Clearly, creating, altering and using quotes for analogy at the right time in the right
manner is one of the finest arts which any executive would like to possess.
A powerful quote can
• Inspire and infuse much needed spirit in a team
• Win someone’s heart
• Become the mantra or the core philosophy of an organization
• Begin a beautiful day
• Add soul to a bland conversation
• Help an executive close a deal
In conclusion, quotes have an important role to play in every facet of life.
What is QuoteYou & QuoteOn?
In technical terms, QuoteYou will be a web based application & QuoteOn will be a
mobile application.
• QuoteYou will provide a collaborative social networking platform with Quote
Linguistic Engine as backbone. It will facilitate its users in art of quoting by ways
artificial intelligence approaches.
• QuoteOn will assist business owners by providing platform to run their loyalty
program & measure the progress of participation via mobile devices.
Both systems will share common database repository containing thousands of quotes
made by legends of past.
Why are we creating QuoteYou products and why now?

Architectural Principles.
o Seek Opportunity in adversity of FDI in Retail.
o Do More with Less User Interface clicks.
o Think and act flexibly.
o Keep it simple. Time spent for deal making should get minimized.
o Follow Your Heart in everyday Negotiation.
o Retail Owners do not want complex and expensive Loyalty platforms.
o Retail Owners want to continue with Cash transactions and still have
loyalty programs based on positive constructive feedback using quotes.
o Retail Owner wants his judgment to award loyalty points.
• Create better connect between brands and customers.
• Bring back life into relationships falling apart.
• Play a role in connecting small retail stores and its regular customers.
• A search company said that ‘Dating is a “search” Problem’, and we feel that
‘Dating is a “quoting” problem’.
• Connect a company’s mission and vision statement with its core audience.
• Amul marketing clicks in India. Best Ads people read and appreciate.
o The Amul Campaign tells stories of India, hoarding at a time. The
hoardings are markers to the 'popular' history of India and have been
followed by fans for decades. Seemingly ageless, this long running
campaign has captivated fans across all ages.

Campaign at a time. The Loyalty campaign will be markers of 'popular'
street talk of Locality to be followed by loyal captivated customers.

language.
Why Now?
We believe that this is the revolution era of products evolution. Due to tremendous
growth of technologies, we are currently living in an era where companies are coming out
with new products at great pace. So need of brand management, product promotion etc. is
at its peak level. That’s why we believe that this is the right time to undertake this project

• Big Guys are guessing

• Love is marketing metric
• Belief that best ideas don’t start with solution
• Quoting Patterns
Why one should use QuoteYou products?
There goes a saying that “The best way to get a good idea is to get lot of ideas by
brainstorming”. Same is true when organization looks out for building its vision &
mission statements, slogans, punch lines, brand building endorsements etc. for its
products & services.
Big organizations do have budgets for same. This is not the case for small organizations
& shops. That doesn’t mean small organizations don’t have needs of brand & image
building. They also have equal needs of promoting their businesses but due to financial
constraints they can’t afford to carry out campaigns involving lots of brains to receive
ideas on various lines of needed quotes.
That’s where QuoteYou solution chips in. By getting tuned with QuoteYou, these small
vendors can capitalize in arriving at various quotes at much cheaper costs than those
conventional survey campaign means.
What is Quoting Patterns?
Quoting pattern is a systematic way of communicating thoughts and ideas by sender
which can leave great impact on receivers. Quotes are normally 1 to 4 lines. Sometime it
uses words which can establish rhythm making it easier to remember by using synonym
words. Quotes are means to deliver strong messages. Many times, quotes are comprised
of strong words. It is observed that many people like to rephrase quote by replacing few
words of quote & use it based on situational context.

Core review criteria
Customer problem addressed
We are currently passing through an era of technology evolution which began in 1970s.
This is a trigger period where we are witnessing new products getting launched in market
at very rapid pace. Many small companies/shops find it difficult to keep up with these
changes as they have to compromise with customer involvement if they want to launch a
product quickly. At the same time, there are many people who possess interest in creative
writing, socializing with like minded people, enhancing their knowledge etc.
To address these issues, we are proposing to build a web based software solution
QuoteYou system. QuoteYou will provide a collaborative platform using which
companies/shops will be able to come out with tag lines, slogans, punch lines etc. for
their products/businesses quickly with lots of people participation.
Also site will enable them to promote their products & advertise it at cheaper costs. On
other hand, QuoteYou will provide a creative platform to customers (users) to enhance
knowledge, creative thinking and learning by extending the quotes from original quotes
repository containing thousands of well known quotes by legends of past. The mind has a
tendency to learn and create something new quickly if it gets associated with known past
things. One of the main objectives of QuoteYou is to simulate the creativity of human
beings based on this principle of mind.
As discussed earlier, these could be targeted audience of our products:
• Aspiring Geeks.
• Aspiring small time marketers.
• Anyone with a penchant for words.
• Literature Enthusiasts
• Advertising professionals
• Brand Management teams
• Copywriters
• Directors, Managers, Political leaders
Competitive distinction vis-a-vis existing solutions
When we talk about social networking, there are sites like facebook, orkut etc. available
but none of them got social network based on quotes.
Our product will be having “Quote Linguistic Engine”, “Jugard Loyalty Engine for
retail”, “Data analytic engine” & “Geo Location Engine”. Together all components will
form a backbone of our system.
There are other sites like www.MotivationalQuotes.com which just shows quotes in an
organized category wise manner but lacks linguistic engine to support quote
creation/extension/alteration activities at run time.
Our front end will have support for social network of quotes from customers & we will
be building a mobile app for shop owners as well. This will facilitate people to use our
solution easily & more often due to wider & easier accessibility.
Status of intellectual property
1. Team is empowered with knowledge of intellectual property related laws.
2. Couple of meetings done with attorney in intellectual property related field.
3. Intending to file for patent rights for India jurisdiction by June 30, 2013 &
intending to file international application by September 30, 2013.
Our Approach in building the product
Proposed Solution
User Experience Process :
(1) User Interface is modeled on "Question Answer User Interface ".
a. Interface where user asks the system what to quote.
(2) User tweaks the quote a bit for his intellectual satisfaction.
(3) User Post on facebook, twitter etc on wall of Shop Owner or his friend.
(4) List of quotes is pulled from facebook, twitter using pull User Interface
Front End :
(1) QuoteYou - Social network of quotes
a. implement features people come to take for granted when using search: Type
ahead, spelling correction, faceting, automatic tagging
(2) QuoteOn - Mobile application for shop owners
(3) Juggard Loyalty Management
Backend Infrastructure:
(1) Quote Linguistic engine
(2) Quote Loyalty engine for shops
(3) Geo Location engine

Fundamentally QuoteYou Infrastructure is text taming, Big Data problem space. We are
living in the era of Information Revolution. Everyday vast amount of information is being
created and disseminated over World Wide Web(WWW). Even though each piece of
information published in the web is useful in some way; we may require to identify and
extract relevant/useful information.
As more information appears there is a demand for smart and intelligent processing and
text data. The very field of text analytics has been attracted attention of developers
around the globe.
User Interface
Front End for QuoteYou for most people in the team is "How does System interface helps
User to Quote" -- Actually make-up intelligently a quote based on past quotation. Input
for the Quote is "Context", [Place, things etc is automatic input by geo locations.]

elements designed to increase user interaction on websites. The project involves
badging, points, live notifications, and leaderboards. Additionally, the platform
provides analytics ( who did what on platform ) to track user participation.
Apache Rave
Apache Rave is a new Open Source software mashup platform that allows
developers to build and engage with an array of social network technologies such
as OpenSocial, W3C Widgets, and Activity Streams
Apache Rave brings together and combines several pre-existing projects and
teams working towards more or less the same or overlapping goals. Each of these
projects is already in production, but Rave is a brand new start. We are bringing
together the best from each of the original projects in a brand new code base.
The goal for Apache Rave is to become a lightweight and open-standards based
extendible platform for using, integrating and hosting OpenSocial and W3C
Widget related features, technologies and services. It will also provide strong
context-aware personalization, collaboration and content integration capabilities
and a high quality out-of-the-box installation as well as be easy to integrate in
other platforms and solutions.
Apache Shindig
Apache Shindig's goal is to allow new sites to start hosting social apps in under an
hour's worth of work. Apache Shindig is a container for hosting social application
consisting of four parts:
Gadget Container JavaScript: core JavaScript foundation for general
gadget functionality (read more about gadget functionality). This
JavaScript manages security, communication, UI layout, and feature
extensions, such as the OpenSocial API.
Gadget Rendering Server: used to render the gadget XML into
JavaScript and HTML for the container to expose via the container
JavaScript.
OpenSocial Container JavaScript: JavaScript environment that sits on
top of the Gadget Container JavaScript and provides OpenSocial specific
functionality (profiles, friends, activities, datastore).
OpenSocial Data Server: an implementation of the server interface to
container-specific information, including the OpenSocial REST APIs,
with clear extension points so others can connect it to their own backend.
Apache Wookie
Apache Wookie is a Java server application that allows you to upload and deploy
widgets for your applications; widgets can not only include all the usual kinds of
mini-applications, badges, and gadgets, but also fully-collaborative applications
such as chats, quizzes, and games.
Wookie is based on the W3C Widgets specification, but widgets can also be
included that use extended APIs such as Google Wave Gadgets and OpenSocial.
Quoting Platform
Backend for most people in the team is "When user wants to quote, system should
prompt appropriate Quote" -- Actually make-up intelligently a quote based on past
quotation. Input for the Quote is "Context", [Place, things etc is automatic input by geo
locations.]
Apache OpenNLP

processing of natural language text.
It supports the most common NLP tasks, such as tokenization, sentence
segmentation, part-of-speech tagging, named entity extraction, chunking, parsing,
and co-reference resolution. These tasks are usually required to build more
advanced text processing services. OpenNLP also includes maximum entropy and
perceptron based machine learning.
Apache TIKA
The Apache Tika™ toolkit detects and extracts metadata and structured text
content from various documents using existing parser libraries.
Apache Mahout
The Apache Mahout™ machine learning library's goal is to build scalable
machine learning libraries.

Introduction of QuoteYou and QuoteON. Innovation is the engine that drives a modern economy. Innovation begins with an observant eye and changes the way the world functions, often gifting solutions that can make a real difference. As quoted by Albert Einstein “Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage – to move in the opposite direction”. Language was not born the time the world started its existence. Its need was felt as there was a need to communicate well, effectively and to the point. Art played a role in using visual elements like cave paintings to communicate while communicating with signs also worked for a while. However, what language did was democratizing the ability to communicate for mankind. Language also works well when the right words are used at the right time and in the right context. As it is said, “Brevity is the soul of wit”, the power of communication is inversely proportional to the number of words used.
