SOS Outreach - Power of Snowsports as a Youth Developmental & EducationTool
SOGA 1-pager
1. SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF GEORGIA
WHY IT MATTERS
The SOGA athletic events provide opportunities for over 27,000 athletes with
intellectual disabilities to compete with and inspire one another in a way that
improves selfesteem, enhances skill development and fosters healthy relationships.
Sponsors, volunteers and other supporters who are involved in the organization are
also rewarded by seeing the positive impact their work has on the lives of SOGA’s
athletes and their family members.
STRATEGY
To increase community awareness and involvement in the SOGA through proper
education, effective communication and inspiring athletic events. Establishing a
meaningful and lasting bond between the individuals the SOGA is committed to
serving and their fellow Georgia residents should be the focus for this campaign.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Create inspiring, visually appealing
online marketing materials that
increase consumer engagement and
communicate the positive impact
SOGA has on the lives of the people
it serves.
Partner with at least four local
schools and/or universities to create
projects that encourage students to
participate in the SOGA events by
the end of the year.
To increase SOGA’s total number of
Facebook and Twitter followers by
15% by the end of the year.
To have a 10% increase in the
number of registered volunteers for
the state fall games and state horse
show by October 7, 2016.
To increase the total number of
attendants to the 2017 spring athletic
events by 20%.
ANTICIPATED RESULTS
The tactics carried out in this campaign will create fun and exciting opportunities for
community members to participate in activities that spread the message about
SOGA, its athletes and its events. Encouraging this type of involvement will lead to
increased attendance and volunteerism at SOGA athletic events in the future.

member or coach who educates
students on the importance of diversity
and inclusion.

winter games.
