Currently, public services are neither user-driven, nor sufficiently sophisticated to support seamless, real-time collaboration between the service consumers and the service providers. They are provided in a rigid, linear manner, without taking into consideration the individual characteristics and needs of each beneficiary. Such traditional public services have not delivered their promised added value or lived up to the expectations of citizens and enterprises for actual cost-effective, one stop-shop provisions. A Government Service Utility (GSU), or an Interoperability Service Utility (ISU) operating in the Public sector, is a vision of the Internet of the Future, where public organisations, citizens, enterprises and non-profit organizations can collaboratively shape public services at design-time and runtime, in order to be delivered as a utility-like offering at their own ends, to the channels they prefer and in the context and situation they are. As public services increasingly bridge real with virtual life, new value proposition models embracing the Utility Concept shall emerge, enabling a win-win collaboration among many of the stakeholders. Several models of operation of the ISU within the public sector are presented, allowing for the introduction of shared infrastructures in different levels of engagement. The roles that different ISU implementations can play in digital public service creation and provision are contemplated with relevant business models, prescribing little, significant or full outsourcing of operations from the public sector towards private enterprises of all sizes

Urban logistics activities are expected to grow by 8% a year in Europe through to 2030. Deliveries of goods already account for 20% of all traffic and for 30% of pollution in our cities, and flows are continuing to increase. As our society comes to demand ever more immediacy, deliveries in urban areas present a major and increasingly complex challenge for logistics actors: while some consumers prefer more eco-friendly deliveries, others wish to support their local shops, deliveries in urban areas contribute to traffic jams, pollution and noise disturbance, and the COVID-19 pandemic has given a boost to online shopping. Solutions to the economic and environmental challenges of urban logistics include investments in new technologies, such as artificial intelligence or blockchain, enhanced collaboration between the various actors in the ecosystem, private and public alike, and reflection on the organization of logistics facilities. En tant que consomma-on ostentatoire, le luxe s’apparente, nous dit Veblen dès la fin du XIXème siècle, à l’achat de produits-symboles et projec-fs par des classes sociales qui travaillent, ce qui leur permet de mimer plus ou moins consciemment les pra-ques de la classe qui ne travaille pas, celle des aristocrates anglais ren-ers si bien portrai-sés par P.G. Wodehouse. Si le concept existe depuis de nombreuses années, il est légi-me aujourd’hui, à l’ère du digital, de s’interroger sur la façon dont les mythologies tradi-onnelles du luxe, et donc, de la consomma-on ostentatoire, s’ar-culent avec celles d’Internet. Au terme de plusieurs mois de confinement en France, la Chaire « Prospective du commerce dans la société 4.0 » ESCP Business School/E. Leclerc/Bearing Point ouvre la discussion sur l’impact de cette période inédite sur le secteur du commerce et de la distribution et sur les conséquences possibles de la crise sanitaire, à court et plus long termes. Assistera-t-on à une forte rupture avec le commerce d'avant ? Quels seront les effets de cliquet une fois la crise passée ? Fin 2019, l’Observatoire Société et Consommation (ObSoCo) publiait son étude sur les perspectives utopiques qui résonnent chez les citoyens/usagers (consommateurs, travailleurs, citadins, etc.). Cette étude s’appuie sur la réalisation d’une enquête approfondie auprès d’un échantillon de 2000 personnes représentatif de la population française de 18 à 70 ans. Ses résultats précisent les modes de vie et les formes de vivre ensemble, et incitent à revoir les stratégies de segmentation auparavant basées sur les critères socio-démographiques usuels, ainsi que le positionnement de la valeur symbolique associée aux biens et services proposés aux consommateurs/ citoyens. Au-delà de l’étude, cette tendance sociétale se vérifie dans les pratiques actuelles des consommateurs, qui se reflètent, notamment dans leurs interactions sur les plateformes communautaires mais aussi dans leur rapport changeant aux canaux et formats de distribution.
