Synthetic Collateralized Debt Obligations, Agency Debentures, Treasury bonds, Commercial Paper and Bank
Trust Preferred Securities. (The objectives of this portfolio were to generate income, satisfy collateral
requirements and provide liquidity as needed.)
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Traded in excess of $115 billion of fixed income securities
• Developed and launched a Synthetic CDO buy program (this asset class was new to the investment
portfolio) which culminated in a $750 million portfolio and generated $13 million of annual pre-tax interest
income for the company
• Developed and launched a Municipal bond buy program (this asset class was new to the investment
portfolio) which culminated in a $2.5 billion portfolio and generated $150 million of annual pre-tax interest
income for the company
• Spearheaded the creation of a $3 billion corporate bond portfolio consisting of high-grade global credits
with maturities ranging from two to ten years
• Launched a $2 billion Asset-Backed portfolio consisting of highly rated Auto, Credit Card and Student Loan
paper with targeted average lives of less than three years
Responsible for the daily management and reporting of a $22 billion liability position.
The liability position consisted of Federal Home Loan Bank Advances, Fed Funds / Eurodollars, Repurchase
Agreements, Dollar Rolls and Brokered Deposits. (The objectives of this portfolio were to provide daily
liquidity, reduce overall interest expense, diversify sources of liquidity and generate new sources of liquidity.)
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Transacted over $5 billion of Federal Home Loan Bank Advance restructurings which saved over $30
million of interest expense and reduced interest rate risk

• Orchestrated a multi-billion dollar Dollar Roll Funding Program which saved the company over $20 million
annually
• Developed a Brokered Deposit program with over $4 billion in balances (at the program’s height) consisting
of certificates of deposit and money markets
