INDIGENOUS
A.I.Y.N.
An Indigenous Youth Network – December 2015
Youth Shaping Change
Thinking Indigenous was created in response to the 30 day Generation
Indigenous Challenge in May 2015. Since then, it has been represented at
the White House Tribal Youth Gathering, was mentioned by
#YesWeCode, NextGenNative, and Native News Online for working with
the vocabulary on NativeLanguages.Co. We are steadily expanding
among youth in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, and
most recently Ethiopia.
Are you ready to help innovate and
encourage cultural awareness and
economic growth in your community?
There are so many opportunities that have been created for our native
youth. The sky is the limit, and we are striving to create and streamline
these opportunities to ALL native youth. If you want to start making a
difference today, we want to hear your ideas and support you along the
way!
Q: What is Thinking Indigenous?
A: We are a web-based International Indigenous Youth Network and
Organization. Providing a space for indigenous youth to collaborate and
plan ideas and projects for positive changes in their respective
communities.
Q: How does Thinking Indigenous operate?
A: Youth engagement, that leads to ultimate youth empowerment!
Thinking Indigenous is founded, and managed by native youth. Working
to provide youth the necessary experience and skills to succeed in a
professional/corporate structured environment by granting them the
responsibility of managing the entire organization. Our youth members
lead the organization and determine it’s priority funding for youth
proposed projects, it is built around the values and traditions of youth
members’ respective tribes.
“Thinking Indigenous is all about youth
empowerment.”
Board of directors
Thinking Indigenous is all about
youth empowerment. And that
means putting young indigenous
professionals at the head of the
operation.
We are looking for driven, self-
motivated youth ages 18-25 who
are ready to help develop,
capacity build, and represent the
needs of Indigenous youth. We
are currently accepting
applications, contact us for more
information!
We are the 1st International
Indigenous Social Network that is
by and for youth!
2. EDUCATING THROUGH EXPERIENCE
Using “traditional” and “non-traditional” forms of educating. Thinking
Indigenous will be uitilizing e-course capabilities, and providing trainings for
youth even in remote, rural areas. We will be striving to provide equitable
access to resources that lead to economic growth and opportunities innovated
by our respective cultures.
Catering to your interests
There are different divisional networks to cater and promote the interests and
work done by youth that is innovative and incorporates traditional knowledge
into modern education, commerce and industries.
Offering and developing easy to access free education resources and tools, peer
support and networking opportunities are just some of the ways Native youth
can begin to help create and innovate positive change in their communities.
Divisional Network Leaders
We are searching for strong leaders to head our divisional networks and
committees. We welcome all members ages 12-25 to lead our 5 divisional
networks and facilitate 16+ divisional network committees for optimum
