PERSONAL
PROGRESS
A Tool to Facilitate Conversion
Why Personal Progress?
 “The living prophets of God have clearly
communicated to you what is of greatest
eternal worth. They have clearly indicated that
“families are central to God’s plan…Everything
in the Personal Progress program leads you to
    the holy temples.”
    -Elder Shayne M. Bowen
Why Personal Progress?
 “Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness
in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small
and simple things are great things brought to
pass; and small means in many instances doth
    confound the wise.” Alma 37:6
Why Personal Progress
 Personal Progress gives young women
opportunities in their daily lives to seek a
testimony of Gospel truths and principles.
 The small and simple things that your
daughter does to complete value experiences
    will lead to conversion.
Conversion
 Conversion includes a change in behavior, but
it goes beyond behavior; it is a change in our
    very nature.(lds.org)
 Conversion is a process, not an event.
Conversion comes as a result of righteous
    efforts to follow the Savior.(lds.org)
Conversion
 Hold the Phone! Aren’t value experiences
small, righteous efforts to follow our Savior!?
Conversion
 Does anyone remember Stephen?
 Acts 6:5-15, Acts 7:55-60
Conversion

Power & Sure Countenance Become Like
 Faith Holy Ghost Service
                                Miracles Testimony Change Jesus
Conversion
 Stephen’s last words were, “Lord, lay not this
sin to their charge.” (Acts 7:60).
 That sounds a lot like “Father, forgive them; for
they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34)
What About Moms?
 Did you know that you can do Personal
    Progress with your daughter?
 Earning your medallions together can bring
you closer to your daughter in an indescribable
way; you will have shared life-changing
    conversion together.
