Every day, 10 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer.
Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience and the emotional, practical and
financial implications of treatment are intensely challenging for the whole family. CLIC
Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families.
We provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer
and get the most out of life. As a student ambassador, you will help us to spread this mission
and increase funds to help us provide these invaluable services to children and young people
with cancer, and their families.
• Active fundraising and the running of at least one fundraising event of your
choice each year, with necessary materials provided.
• Recruiting a group of students to represent the charity through sending out
emails and approaching university groups (like RAG) about getting involved.
• Putting up posters around campus to promote local fundraising events.
• Recruiting volunteers for local fundraising events in the larger community.
• Strong communication skills
• Enthusiasm about the cause and about fundraising
• Ability and willingness to take on a role of responsibility. You will be able to
take ownership over this role, and we want student volunteers who are willing
to work independently and autonomously.
• Ability to come up with and promote fresh ideas that will boost fundraising for
CLIC Sargent!
• Ample support and resources from CLIC Sargent
• Experience for your CV and recommendation letter, upon request
• Regular e-newsletters about local services, news, and fundraising updates to keep
you informed on what is going on with CLIC Sargent and how it affects your role
• Contact information of your local fundraising manager

• A fun, engaging role that will help make a difference to the lives of children and
young people with cancer
2. • Time commitment of 1-3 hours per week throughout the school year, with
additional hours around the time of the fundraising event/s you organise.
• All student ambassadors will be expected to complete a brief phone orientation
with their local CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager to give students a better idea
of their new role, what they can expect and what is expected of them.
