2. Duties
As News Editor, I was responsible
for assigning story assignments
and editing the work of a news
staff of roughly four people. In
addition to the managerial and
copy editing work involved, I also
used Adobe InDesign to lay out
four pages in the newspaper at
our weekly production day.
3. Adobe InDesign
Each Sunday, I was responsible
for laying out four to five pages
at our weekly “production day”
meetings. During these
meetings, I worked closely with
the Copy Editor, Managing
Editor and Editor-in-Chief to
make proper corrections to
each News Page.
4. Management
In order for the News Team
to stay organized, I used an
Excel spreadsheet system to
assign articles to my staff
writers. This organization
resulted in decreased
ambiguity and an increased
sense of professionalism
within the staff.
