Brief description: In this ident I see a woman riding on her bike along a dark but safe looking street,
What do you see? there are a lot of lampposts and gold fireflies flying around in a string formation
this brightens up the street and this is what makes it look safe. As the ident goes
on and we pass through a string of fireflies we see again the woman riding on her
bike and other people walking along the street and there is also a slow driving
car. I personally think that the channel itv1 is aimed at people who live quite
normal lives and work a normal 9-5 job. And this is typically what there street
would look like at night, so this is appealing to them as they can relate to it.

Techniques used: The colouring in this is mostly dark, eg- the dark street. But the gold fireflies and
Animation, Visual Effects, Colour Rendering, bright street lamps light it up and make it look bright. I see Black and Gold as
Graphics, Movement
quite exciting casual colours so I think this is what it’s trying to portray. You do
not see the ITV1 logo until the camera turns of the woman riding the bike and
turns up to the lamp post and dragon flies. At this point the ITV1 logo is the
predominant thing on the screen. The ITV1 logo then stays on the screen as the
camera then moves up through the fireflies and over the lamp post until you see
the woman on her bike again.

Advanced techniques: In front of the woman on her bike everything looks quite misty and Smokey
Blur, Sharpen, Distortion, Rotation, Opacity which adds to the darkness affect. Also the first few seconds of you seeing the
ITV1 logo it seems to almost become sharper as the ident goes on.

Technical comments: The general screen ratio of an ident is 16:9. The frame rate per second can alter
Video Format, Screen Ratio, Resolution, but LCD screens are usually 24, 25, 50, 60, or 120 FPS.
